This Return & Refund Policy explains the rules regarding donations, purchases, registrations, program fees, event payments, educational services, and other transactions made through the Islamic Center of Staten Island.
1. Policy Overview
The Islamic Center of Staten Island ("ICSI," "the Center," "we," "our," or "us") strives to serve the community fairly and responsibly. This Return & Refund Policy applies to purchases, donations, registrations, tuition payments, event fees, sponsorships, fundraising campaigns, educational programs, food purchases, merchandise sales, and other transactions conducted through ICSI.
By making a payment, donation, registration, purchase, or financial contribution to ICSI, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Return & Refund Policy.
2. Donations
Donations, including but not limited to Sadaqah, Zakat, General Donations, Building Fund Contributions, Sponsorship Donations, Fundraising Campaign Donations, Emergency Relief Donations, and other charitable contributions, are generally considered final upon successful submission.
Because donated funds may be immediately allocated, distributed, committed, reserved, transferred, or utilized for charitable, religious, educational, operational, maintenance, or community purposes, donations are generally non-refundable.
Refund requests for donations may be reviewed only in cases of duplicate transactions, verified payment processing errors, or unauthorized transactions, and only if reported promptly. Approval of any donation refund remains solely at the discretion of ICSI and applicable law.
3. Merchandise and Product Sales
ICSI may offer products for sale including books, Islamic materials, clothing, educational supplies, food products, beverages, fundraising items, gifts, event-related merchandise, and other goods.
Products may be eligible for return only if they are unused, unopened, undamaged, in original condition, and returned within fourteen (14) calendar days of purchase unless otherwise stated.
ICSI reserves the right to inspect all returned items before approving any refund, replacement, exchange, store credit, or adjustment.
4. Non-Returnable Items
The following items are generally not eligible for return or refund:
• Food and beverage products.
• Opened products.
• Personalized or custom-made items.
• Digital products or downloadable materials.
• Educational materials already accessed or distributed.
• Event tickets after the event date.
• Membership fees.
• Registration fees already processed.
• Donation-related items.
• Gift cards or promotional certificates, if offered.
Exceptions may be granted only where required by law or approved by ICSI management.
5. Food and Catering Orders
Due to health, safety, storage, and food handling regulations, all food, bakery items, beverages, catering orders, meal services, and similar consumable products are considered final sales and are generally not eligible for return or refund once prepared, delivered, served, or picked up.
Customers are responsible for reviewing ingredients, quantities, allergies, and order details before placing an order.
6. Program Registrations and Tuition
Payments for Qur'an classes, Islamic studies programs, youth programs, camps, workshops, educational services, school-related programs, tutoring, seminars, lectures, and other educational activities may be refundable only under limited circumstances.
If a participant voluntarily withdraws after a program has started, no refund may be issued for attended classes, reserved space, administrative costs, staffing expenses, educational materials, or related operational expenses.
Partial refunds, credits, transfers, or future program credits may be considered solely at the discretion of ICSI.
7. Event Registrations
Event registration fees, conference tickets, fundraising dinners, community gatherings, seminars, workshops, Eid activities, youth activities, and other event-related payments are generally non-refundable unless specifically stated otherwise.
If an event is canceled by ICSI, participants may receive a refund, replacement event access, future event credit, or another remedy determined by ICSI.
If an event is postponed, rescheduled, modified, relocated, or adjusted, refunds may not be available.
8. Duplicate Transactions and Billing Errors
If a user believes they were charged multiple times for the same transaction, experienced a billing error, or encountered an unauthorized transaction, they should contact ICSI as soon as possible.
ICSI may investigate the transaction and, if appropriate, issue a refund, correction, adjustment, replacement transaction, or other remedy.
9. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Users agree to contact ICSI before initiating a chargeback, payment dispute, bank reversal, or credit card claim whenever reasonably possible.
Fraudulent, abusive, misleading, or unsupported chargebacks may result in suspension of services, denial of future registrations, cancellation of accounts, refusal of future transactions, collection activity, recovery efforts, legal action, or other remedies permitted by law.
10. Processing Time
Approved refunds may require several business days to process. Actual processing times may vary depending on payment processors, financial institutions, credit card providers, banks, and third-party services.
ICSI is not responsible for delays caused by banks, card issuers, payment gateways, technical issues, or financial institutions.
11. Refusal of Refund Requests
ICSI reserves the right to deny refund requests that are inconsistent with this policy, involve misuse of services, fraudulent activity, unreasonable requests, excessive use of services, policy violations, or circumstances where funds have already been committed, allocated, distributed, or utilized.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ICSI shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, consequential, or economic damages related to purchases, donations, registrations, event participation, educational programs, product sales, service interruptions, cancellations, scheduling changes, payment issues, or refund decisions.
Any approved refund shall be limited to the actual amount paid by the customer for the specific transaction in question.
13. Policy Changes
ICSI reserves the right to modify, update, replace, suspend, or revise this Return & Refund Policy at any time without prior notice.
Updated versions may be published on the website, mobile application, or other official communication channels.
